|
|
Hello
J2RE 1.4.2.03 is quite big (approx 20MB) and takes quite a while to
download with dial up Internet connection ...
But I notice that when installing it that there are 2 optional parts,
1. Support for additional languages
2. Additional Font and media Support
Is it possible to have a version of this J2RE which does not include
the above 2 options in order to have a quicker download?
Cheers
Geoff

Yes, click 'No' when asked.

ah ah! the problem is that I am asked after I have downloaded and am
installing the j2re-1_4._2_03-windows-i586-p.exe file.
I am looking for a version of the j2re which does not contain those 2
options and is therefore a smaller file to distribute with the product
concerned.....
Cheers

Once there was the option to download an english-only or an internation JRE.
Since 1.4, this options seems to be gone. So you will need to download the
full version.
You can look into the license if you are allowed to strip down the unnecessary
files and to deploy the resulting JRE.
