|
|
I wonder how many users actually have a JRE installed. I'm a Java developer
and I always thought having a JRE is like having the "Start" button in the
bottom-left of your Windows desktop; obvious! The last few days, some people
pointed me on the fact that not everybody has the JRE installed. This has a
big influence on Java developer's scope.
What is your opinion about this situation? |

I think most people do have JRE installed, as that is used by some internet
sites and games too. There is also some bank services which require Java!
You can always set JRE as an requirement for your app to work, and IMO that
is not an unreasonable requirement. |

of course it "is not an unreasonable requirement."
the user MUST have the JRE in order to execute the application |
