If you're interested in easily share or publish geographic data using a

release 2

The specified page is just intended to demostrate a small set of GisApplet
features.

GisApplet is a complete but fully customizable and extensible java package
based
on the Java Applet Technology, that manages links to RDBMS tables of
multimedia content
to a fully customizable map derived from any of the most popular GIS,
such as ESRI ShapeFiles or Bentley Systems *.dgn.
