Hello!

I am using NetBeans IDE 3.6. How do I execute a web applet? When I try it
says:

THERE IS NO WEBMODULE DEFINED.

Thanks,
Brian

You need to make some HTML for the applet,
or you can view it in AppletViewer, but I
guess you have already been doing that..

[ Even if you have never heard of it. ]

Wow! An IDE that SHOUTS at you!

Bad IDE!! Sit! Sta, ..StAY!

Where's Chris Smith when you need him? :)

[ I'll try to look in on this tomorrow
and if nobody has taken up your problem,
I will give you some more detailed help,
but I am really too tired to do anything
but make (rather poor) puns at the moment. ]

I'm here, but completely lost regarding what you're talking about... how
do I fit into this?

I think you might be confused. A web module is only necessary for a web

application. An applet is a Java program that runs in a browser. What do you
want? A web application or an applet?

Sorry Chris. I was reading the topic re
'advanced IDEs'.

You saying WTEO "programmer does not need to know"
Me thinking (but not actually bothering to state)
"Until something does not work, ..or until they cannot
find the word in the menus of their IDE which creates
the applet page, or.. in which case you do".

I was reading that topic with some amusement,
as I doubt any person involved will shift their
position much.

Then I came to this post which seems to
come back to the same basic question
'How do I get my *IDE* to..', and thought
of you. ;-)

OK ..tenuous link. But "never let the vapour-like
nature of the link get in the way of a pun".(?)

I basically want to run a web applet..when I try to run one in IE 6, all I
get is a "gray" applet area and no content.

It is most probably this..
<http://www.physci.org/codes/javafaq.jsp#appletie>

A quick way to see if you have
the MSVM selected in IE..
<http://www.physci.org/jvmclean.jsp?pt=console>

If you do, could you do the very quick
"analysis of class file locations." survey
linked in the page?

[ Before, of course, following the advice here..
<http://www.physci.org/jvmclean.jsp?pt=deselect>
then protecting your system from the MSVM by using..
<http://www.physci.org/jvmclean.jsp?pt=download> ]
