The highlight is a cool visualization tool.
It is an interactive 3D orbit viewer written in Java,

You can rotate the orbits around and zoom in,
move around the solar system and "play" the orbits
backwards and forwards like a movie.
It resides right here:

The following is an answer to a frequently asked question:
Question:
Why do I need to change my java policy ?
--------------------------------------
Answer:
For basic use of Java3D and FastScript3D you
do not need to make any changes to your java policy.
...
It is when you plan to utilize certain external
loaders from within a java3d web applet that
you need to change your policy.
-------------------------------
The reason is that some of the loaders will
generate exceptions when attempting to open
data files located on a remote server.
Without the policy modification,
the loader simply won't work.
The wavefront and lightwave loaders that come
bundled with java3d do not require a change
in the java policy, however
the vrml97 loader does [ require a change in the java policy ]

Patti, Web Animation should and can be simple and safe.
Your statements and programs make it
___ less ___ safe and ___ less ___ simple

We need better solutions that are ___ easy and safe ___
and your solution is inferior for no reason other than
your ignorance and arrogance, Dr Koenig.
We need solutions that are portable and reliable
and ones that help scientists, students, and web users
and be free of the limitations, problems, expense, and
dangers of Microsoft's inferior products criminally
foisted on consumers by Microsoft's illegal anti-competitive
practices in violation of US anti-trust laws.
We need government employees to do their jobs with integrity.
You have failed thus far: Repent and Sin no more.
Thank you.

FileLoaders for Java3D: the Sun vs. the 'new' xj3d Loaders

VRML loader is more capable for loading
VRML into Java3d and rendering it with

Recently Justin Couch wrote vulgar and false statements
regarding the functionality of the VRML Loaders
developed at Sun, his statements were challenged by a

False and Fraudulent uncorrected claims by Justin Couch

VRML based H-Anim Loaders: They can and they do animate

including Finger Spelling for the Deaf animations.

New Models for Interacting with 3D Worlds
------------------------------------------
What is so hard about 3D interaction ?
The World Wide Web makes practical
-- indeed necessary --
the development of code that will __ run __ everywhere. ___

Thus real-time 3D environments are now

This panel looked at practical solutions
to the challenge of interfacing with these new
3D worlds, both in terms of hardware devices,
and in terms of universal 3D file formats such as
VRML 2.0 and JAVA 3D.

Could you please phrase the data as an html page somewhere that you
might be able to maintain , with the previous posting being replaced
with I'd hope a briefer index of what must be worthy offerings.
As it stands , it shares rank with adware and spyware in not really
giving me much more choice than suck it up or forego my use of the NG.
Please , Please , rephrase your expression.
