For what subject matter within java? IOW, what would you need to have
comp.lang.java for specifically? I personally would have felt better if
they had left it alone, and /not/ put in .help, but that's me.
If it helps any, looking quickly at it, comp.lang.java is probably currently
mostly filled with programming questions, which should all be directed
toward comp.lang.java.programmer.

I'd like to add something about all this.
It is not my position that the current names of the java newsgroups are
ideal. It is my goal to have as many people as possible understand what
groups are official, and as such have the majority of the posts go to
productive places.
If I had my way, I'd have a different set of groups, only some of them as we
have them now. The problem is, even if I /was/ able to have the groups as I
believe make the most sense, it would only add to the confusion since many
ISP's are ignoring the "rmgroup" control message (hence the need for this
message in the first place).
